Unless stated otherwise, all dated births, deaths and marriages occurred in the Falklands and all numbered graves are in Stanley Cemetery. Any variations which may occur in the spellings of names are recorded as written in the records at the time.

Theophilus HALLETT, married, age 42, born circa 1809 in Poplar, Middlesex, shipwright and Ann HALLETT, wife, age 43, born circa 1808 in Shadwell, Middlesex are living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower Hamlets County, Middlesex. Also living with them was Sarah HUNT, widow, age 68 born circa 1783 at Brompton, Kent, dependent on son. [1851 English Census] By 1861 they were recorded as being age 52 and 53 respectively, living at 2 Dolphin cottages, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, London and their nephew Henry HALLETT, age 17, born circa 1844 in Greenwich, Kent and a shipwright was also living with them. [1861 English Census]

Children of Theophilus and Ann HALLETT:

1. Theophilus HALLETT, unmarried, age 18, born circa 1833 at Limehouse, Middlesex, shipwright. In 1851 was living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower Hamlets County, Middlsex. [1851 English Census]

2. George HALLETT, unmarried, age 16, born circa 1835 at Poplar, Middlesex, shipwright. In 1851 was living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower Hamlets County, Middlsex. [1851 English Census] By 1861 George was recorded as being unmarried, age 27, born circa 1834 at Limehouse, Middlesex, shipwright, living at 2 Dolphin cottages, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, London. [1861 English Census] George was married to (1) Sarah Ann FROST in 1867 in Poplar, London, England. George HALLETT, his wife Sarah Ann HALLETT and their four children Ada HALLETT, George HALLETT, John HALLETT and Sarah HALLETT arrived in Stanley, Falkland Islands 3 April 1874 on board the 461 ton British barque Lion from London, England which was carrying 24 passengers and cargo for the Falkland Islands Company Ltd. George was recorded as a Falkland Islands Company Ltd ship's carpenter. [FIC 1867-1877, pg 465] Sarah Ann died 30 November 1889 from cirrhosis of the liver, age 56, and was buried in Grave A102. The informant was George Hallett, publican, Stanley. George departed for England 28 March 1891 with his daughter Alice and son John on board the Isis. George returned 20 December 1891 on board the Abydos. [FIM Jan 1892] George, a widower, shipwright & carpenter and living in Stanley, was married to (2) Clara BROWN, widow, English and living in Stanley, 18 October 1896 at the Baptist Tabernacle, Stanley, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Baptists by Banns by Reverend Herbert H Hill. The witnesses were Mary Wilkins and Edward Wilkins. George's father was recorded as Theophilus Hallett, deceased and Clara's father was recorded as Henry Hallett, deceased. George died 14 May 1913 from cancer and general debility, age 79, and was buried in Grave F760. Clara travelled to Punta Arenas, Chile on board the Orita 21 August 1920. She is recorded as arriving from Punta Arenas 28 May 1923 on board the La Paz. Clarissa HALLETT died 30 June 1927 from senile decay and gangrene, age 86, and was buried 2 July 1927 in Grave K964

3. Elizabeth HALLETT, unmarried, age 12, born circa 1839 at Limehouse, Middlesex, school. In 1851 was living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower

[1851 English Census] By 1861 Elizabeth was recorded as being unmarried, age 22, born circa 1839 at Limehouse, Middlesex, no occupation, living at 2 Dolphin cottages, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, London. [1861 English Census] Elizabeth Sarah was married to Joseph BERWICK, shipwright, 16 August 1865 at Poplar All Saints in Tower Hamlets. 4. Ann HALLETT, unmarried, age 10, born circa 1841 at Limehouse, Middlesex, school. In 1851 was living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower Hamlets County, Middlsex. [1851 English Census] 5. Benjamin HALLETT, age 7, born circa 1844 at Limehouse, Middlesex, school. In 1851 was living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower Hamlets County, Middlsex. [1851 English Census] By 1861 Benjamin was recorded as being unmarried, age 17, born circa 1844 at Limehouse, Middlesex, living at 2 Dolphin cottages, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, London. [1861 English Census] 6. Amelia HALLETT, unmarried, age 2, born circa 1849 at Limehouse, Middlesex, school. In 1851 was living at 10 Robert Street, Saint Anne Limehouse, Tower Hamlets County, Middlsex. [1851 English Census] By 1861 Amelia was recorded as being unmarried, age 12, born circa 1849 at Limehouse, Middlesex, scholar, living at 2 Dolphin cottages, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, London. FIRST GENERATION:

Children of George and Sarah Ann HALLETT:

1. Sarah Ann HALLETT born circa 1868 (not in Falkland Islands). Sarah arrived in Stanley, Falkland Islands 3 April 1874 on board the 461 ton British barque Lion from London England with her family. Sarah, age 21, was married to (1) John Thomas FEWKES/FEUKES, age 29 and an engineer living in Stanley, 19 September 1889 in the Service room according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns by Lowther E Brandon MA Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were George Hallett and Ada Mary Louise Hallett. Sarah's father was recorded as George Hallett, shipwright and John's father was recorded as Matthew Fewkes, weaver. John Fewkes, age 31 and an engine driver, accidentally drowned Sunday 12 April 1891 and was buried 15 April 1891 (no grave number recorded). According to the FIM "John Fewkes and Thomas Witterick were sailing a boat in the harbour when a gust of wind caught the sail which unfortunately had been made fast to the seat, and the boat was swamped. Fewkes was picked up soon after the accident, but the other man's body has not yet been found. John Fewkes was a well known resident in Stanley and was universally liked and esteemed for his genial qualities, steadiness and attention to his work. His loss will be long felt in the Settlement. He has left a widow and one child." [FIM May 1891] Sarah Ann FEUKES, of full age and a widow, was married to (2) David Trevor WILLIAMS, mariner of Stanley, 29 April 1896 in the Parish Church according to the Rites & Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns by Lowther E Brandon MA Dean & Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were George Hallett and Margaret Gilchrist. Sarah's father was recorded as George Hallett, shipwright and David's father was recorded as David Trevor Williams, engineer. Sarah is recorded as arrived in Stanley from Chartres on board the Fair Rosamond 20 April 1903 and she and her two children departed for Liverpool on board the Oropesa 28 June 1903.

2. George Frederick HALLETT born circa October 1869 (not in Falkland Islands). George arrived in Stanley, Falkland Islands 3 April 1874 on board the 461 ton British barque Lion from London England with his family. George, of no profession, accidentally drowned 6 March 1886, age 16 years and 5 months ? and was buried 14 March 1886 in Grave A103.

3. Ada Mary Louisa HALLETT born circa 1871 (not in Falkland Islands). Ada arrived in Stanley, Falkland Islands 3 April 1874 on board the 461 ton British barque Lion from London England with her family. Ada, age 19, was married to Donald PATTERSON, age 28 and a sheepfarmer living in Puerto Gallegos and Stanley, 31 July 1890 in the Stanley Arms according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church by Licence by Lowther E Brandon MA Colonial Chaplain. The witnesses were George Hallett and Mary Miller. Ada's father was recorded as George Hallett, shipwright and Donald's father was recorded as Alexander Patterson, manager.

4. John HALLETT born ? (not in Falkland Islands). John arrived in Stanley, Falkland Islands 3 April 1874 on board the 461 ton British barque Lion from London England with his family. John departed for England 28 March 1891 with his father and sister Alice on board the Isis. [FIM Apr 1891] On 19 August 1892 John departed Stanley for

Sandy Point (Punta Arenas, Chile) as one of the crew of the Ione. [FIM Sep 1892] On 25 May 1894 he departed Stanley on board the Result. [FIM June 1894] One 3 February 1896 John departed Stanley for Punta Arenas on board the Tanis. [FIM

March 1896]

5. Alice Jane HALLETT born 19 October 1878 in Stanley and baptised 22 December 1878 by Holy Trinity Church. Her father's occupation was recorded as shipwright. Alice departed for England 28 March 1891 with her father and brother John on board the Isis. [FIM Apr 1891] In the 1901 census Alice is recorded as a niece age 24 living at 6 Hollybush Street, West Ham, Essex, England with Joseph BERWICK, 58, Elizabeth BERWICK, 57, and Hieophilus BERWICK, 25. Alice was married to Samuel HELPS in June 1901 in West Ham and in the 1911 census they are listed as S Helps, age 36, coke dealer, Bow, Middlesex; Alice HELPS, married 10 years, age 32; George HELPS, son, age 9, born 1902 in Plaistow, Essex and the family were living at 5 Cave Road, Plaistow, E County, Essex. Alice died April-June 1956, age 57, in West Ham, Essex.

SECOND GENERATION:

Children of Sarah (1) and John FEWKES: 1. John FEWKES born 19 June 1890 in Stanley and baptised as John FEUKES 3

August 1890 by Holy Trinity Church. His father's occupation was recorded as engineer. His godparents were recorded as his father, D Paterson and A M L Paterson. John departed for Liverpool on board the Oropesa with his mother and brother 28 June 1903. [FIM July 1903]

Children of Sarah (1) and David WILLIAMS: 1. Clarence Meredith Trevor WILLIAMS born 24 May 1902 at Chartres and baptised

19 October 1902 by Christ Church Cathedral. His father's occupation was recorded as mariner. Clarence departed for Liverpool on board the Oropesa with his mother and brother 28 June 1903. [FIM July 1903]

Children of Ada (3) and Donald PATERSON: 1. George Alexander PATERSON born 15 June 1891 at Coy Inlet, Patagonia and

baptised 30 April 1898 by the Chaplaincy of Punta Arenas. His father's occupation was recorded as farmer. 2. John PATERSON born 2 June 1893 at Coy Inlet, Patagonia and baptised 30 April 1898 by the Chaplaincy of Punta Arenas. His father's occupation was recorded as farmer 3. Sarah Ann Frost PATERSON born 1 September 1897 at Coy Inlet, Patagonia and baptised 30 April 1898 by the Chaplaincy of Punta Arenas. Her father's occupation was recorded as farmer. 4. James Frederick Stanley PATERSON born 24 August 1898 at Punta Arenas and baptised 30 September 1899 by the Chaplaincy of Punta Arenas. His father's occupation was recorded as farmer.
