This position ensures a guest service quality of excellence by providing support to the Guest Services Manager in the developing, organizing and controlling the operations, activities and leadership to staff. The results should be an outstanding guest experience. The Guest Services Manager will act as manager on duty for the Guest Services Department and directly supervise the department's employees.
Responsibilities include:
? Supervise the daily AM operations of Admissions, Visitor Center, Call Center and Guest Services staff while on duty
? Develop & maintain daily and weekly reporting on attendance for Operations staff ? Create and implement staffing schedules that fit the dynamic nature of Garden
operations ? Set staffing goals and work with Guest Services Manager to set logistical
strategies to meet or exceed a gross ticket revenue budget ? Responsible for accounting and cash reconciliation for the Guest Services Department ? Ability to manage and delegate inquiries and communicate information
regarding upcoming events or new developments within the department to Garden guests and Members using independent judgment and discretion ? Coordinate and schedule daily Adult and School Group check-in at Admissions ? Responsible for daily crowd management and access control ? Partner with Guest Services Manager and Member Services Coordinator to plan, develop, monitor, evaluate and motivate staff for a charitable giving program to increase onsite donations through admissions ? Assist Guest Services Manager as needed in the following:
o Aspects of associate training o Updating procedural documentation o Information gathering o Data input o Reporting
o Ticket system testing ? Work with other departments to gather information regarding admission policies,
activities and events and distribute information to the Guest Services Department ? Respond to visitor's concerns in a manner that ensures a positive outcome for both
the visitor and the Garden ? Check phone messages and emails daily ? Become proficient in rental policies and procedures for the Garden's rental equipment ? Perform all Guest Services Associate duties ? Oversee daily opening procedures/duties
Requirements include:
? Must be able to work weekends, around the holidays, evenings and provide coverage when leads or associates are not present
? Aptitude to learn and apply exemplary customer service techniques as part of a team centered customer focused environment
? Sales skills, self-motivation and a positive approach ? Knowledge and experience in operating of a computerized ticketing and point-of-sale
(POS) systems ? Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles; skill in organizing work of self and
others ? Knowledge of ticket office operations and accepted accounting and recordkeeping
practices related to ticket selling ? Strong attention to detail ? Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with visitors, staff
and volunteers ? Cash handling and Point-of-Sale (POS) System administration experience required ? Ability to work well in a team environment ? Ability to coach, mentor and guide clearly with tact and patience ? Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure ? Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time ______________________________________________________________________________
