POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Housekeeper DEPT: Facilities

FLSA: Non -Exempt DATE: 01/10

REPORTS TO: Facilities Shift Supervisor SALARY GRADE: 2 - 3

BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):

The primary purpose of the Housekeeper is to maintain the cleanliness of the facility, which includes the gaming floors, administration areas, and Garden level.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform janitorial duties, including sanitizing, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, buffing, and dusting.

• Responsible for collecting and properly disposing of all trash in and around the facility in designated area.

• Properly use chemical cleaners and supplies as directed and in a safe and healthful manner to self, other team members, and guests.

• Maintain gaming area at all times, including emptying and cleaning ashtrays, dusting of machines, carpet sweeping, vacuuming and extract of all carpet areas, and disposing of empty cups around machines.

• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards all guests and team members at all times.

• Responsible for stocking supplies in the rest rooms and keeping restrooms clean and attractive continuously.

• Periodically utilize company vehicle to pick up supplies.

• Adhere to established department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Adheres to Casino standards for guest service and confidentiality.

• Refers guest problems or complaints to appropriate supervisors according to Casino policies.

• Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazard, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.

• Performs other job-related duties as directed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):

• Knowledge of safe and proper chemical mixtures, storage, and use, in accordance with requirements.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow directions on equipment, cleaning chemicals, and instruction.

• Ability to perform work and accomplish tasks in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and priorities.

• Ability to function effectively under pressure of time and/or demands of several tasks at once by organizing and prioritizing workload.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information pertinent to the nature of the work.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, REQUIRED.

• Non-Indians must be at least 21 years of age, REQUIRED.

• Enrolled Indians who are at least eighteen (18) years of age, REQUIRED.

• Six (6) months previous experience in housekeeping, preferred.

• Must submit to and clear an Alcohol/Drug Screen, REQUIRED.

• Must be Licensable by the Klamath Tribes Gaming Regulatory Commission.

• Indian Preference will apply.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand, frequently walk and use hands to: finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, push, pull, and walk long distances. Occasionally requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Work environment involves some exposure to chemicals, hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. The employee must demonstrate the ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of other appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
