Winter Solstice Meditation Celebration
Affirmation
"I lay to rest all the worries, and all the cares of the old year."
Dharmachakra Mudra
To do this mudra raise hands to chest and pinch the middle finger of your left hand with the index + thumb of your right hand.
Join your index finger and thumb with both hands (forming a *wheel of life.*)
The left hand symbolizes your inner world, and the right hand represents your outer environment. This mudra unifies the two worlds. For this meditation think of one wheel as the old year, and the other wheel as the new year.
Meditation
Supplies: Candles, Matches, herb for smudging (dried sage, rosemary or lavender), Meditation Journal, pen.
Meditate in the dark with candlelight. Meditate outside if possible (try bundling up with a blanket on the snow).
For each candle you light release the worry + strain of some aspect of the year that was difficult for you. After the meditation smudge yourself, and your home, silently repeating the affirmation, "I am ready to enter a bright new year." Write down what you released in your Meditation Journal.
