Minimal fire behavior with creeping, backing and flanking. Numerous residences threatened. Evacuations, area, road and trail closures in effect. Precipitation occurred over the fire area yesterday.

Tonto Canyon, Coronado NF, USFS. Seven miles southeast of Ruby, AZ. Brush and tall grass. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. Area and road closures in effect.
Cerro Bandera, Bernalillo District, NM State Forestry. Eighteen miles southeast of Grants, NM. Timber, grass and brush. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. Precipitation occurred over the fire area yesterday.

Predictive Services Discussion: Strong high pressure aloft will bring above normal temperatures and very dry conditions to much of the Southeast. Temperatures will be 90-105 with afternoon relative humidity dropping as low as 10%. Very dry conditions are likely in western Arizona into the southern Great Basin as well, with breezy west winds and dry conditions likely across Wyoming into northern Colorado. Rain will continue during the day across much of northern Montana with severe thunderstorms possible across the northern Plains. Monsoon thunderstorms will also continue across New Mexico into southeast Colorado today. In Alaska, very warm conditions with low afternoon relative humidity are forecast across the western Interior but winds will be light. Isolated thunderstorms will develop this afternoon across much of Interior Alaska, with the driest storms in the western Interior.
