The intent of these Specifications is to describe the acceptable standards for obtaining five (5) or more 12/15 yard capacity, steel taper side dump bodies, two (2) or more 12/15 yard capacity, three-axle pup trailers, and related truck modifications. All parts and equipment not specifically mentioned, which are required for a complete unit, shall be included in the submittal price and shall conform in design, strength, quality of materials and workmanship to the highest standards of engineering practice. All parts not specifically mentioned, which are necessary in order to provide a properly built machine, shall be included in the submittal price. All items must be bid as new and unused.Dump Bodies: The dump bodies will be mounted on new Peterbilt model 567 truck cab and chassis, after modification, for hauling various road and street maintenance, construction, and demolition materials, and snow and ice events. Pup Trailers: The trailers will be used with 100,000 lbs. or greater GVWR dump trucks for hauling various road and street maintenance, construction, and demolition materials. Related Modifications: Modify new Peterbilt model 567 tractor for lowboy application.The awarded dump body vendor shall work closely with the truck manufacturer on installation and design of the requested dump bodies, pups, and related modifications.
