Mendota Days Celebration

The second weekend in July (Thurs-Sunday) the City of Mendota is filled with live music and great food. On Saturday at 12:00 p.m. there is a parade on Highway 13 with children’s activities immediately following. On Sunday there is a classic car show.

September 3-5 Harvest Celebration at the Sibley Historic House

The weekend will transport guest back in time when Minnesotans celebrated the end of the harvest and prepared for the bitter winter ahead. One ticket includes admission to both the Sibley House and Historic Fort Snelling. In addition to their regular programs, each site will offer special food-related demonstrations, games for kids, crafts, and hands-on activities. A free shuttle will be available between sites courtesy of the Friends of the Sibley House. The cost is $5.00-$14.00. Call 612-726-1171

September 10-12 Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Community Traditional Pow Wow at St. Peter’s Church

Friday’s events include a fire lighting ceremony at 5:05 p.m. followed by a potluck dinner. Saturday will include grand entries at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m., with an honoring ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Sunday will feature a grand entry at 1:00 p.m. and closing ceremony and feast at 5:00 p.m. Admission is with a $5.00 button.
