Music Lessons – Week 3 – (Years 3-6)

L.O. Compose new lyrics for a song.

Use the familiar tune of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ and write some new lyrics.

• Write about staying at home and isolating.

• Maybe mention things you can and can’t do.

See the examples below:-

|A |Stay at home and close the door |

| |Don’t go travelling anymore |

|B |Don’t go out to parks and meet |

| |Friends and family in the street |

|A |Stay at home and close the door |

| |Don’t go travelling anymore |

or

|A |Stay at home with family |

| |That’s the safest place to be |

|B |Wash your hands with soap and water |

| |Happy Birthday twice no shorter |

|A |Stay at home with family |

| |That’s the safest place to be |

The first two lines and the last two lines are the same. This is called Ternary Form (A B A). The A section is always the same.

Do the same with your song.

Use the following sheet to write your own.

Be Creative!
