Dear Parent/Carer,

Happy New Year to everyone and I hope 2020 brings you all health and happiness!

Below is a brief outline of the main focus of the learning experiences planned across the curriculum for this term:

| |Spelling – Wraparound Spelling will continue to be taught daily in class and your child |

| |will have spelling activities to practise for homework each week. |

|Mathematics and Numeracy |Numeracy - multiplication & division, addition & subtraction |

| |Mathematics – fractions, time & data handling |

|Health and Well-being |P.E – with Mr Douglas on Mondays and myself on Thursdays |

| |- badminton, basketball and creative dancing |

|Expressive Arts (Art, Dance, Drama & Music) |Drama – continues with Mrs MacLean on Wednesdays |

| |Art – linked to our topic |

|ICT & Technology |Chrome books in class and with P5/6 buddies - Using online games and activities to support |

P.E. and Swimming

P.E. continues on Mondays and Thursdays. It would be handy if pupils could keep their kit in school at all times. Please ensure your child wears suitable indoor shoes which don’t fall off easily or brings a pair of trainers with them. We will continue to participate in the daily mile.

From Friday 7th February P4 will be going swimming at Inverness Leisure. More information to follow.

Homework

As last term, homework will be issued on Mondays and due to be returned by Friday. Please see your child’s homework jotter for more information.

Community Café

P4 will be performing at the Community Café on Friday 7th February at 1:45pm. This is a special Burns Supper Community Café run by P6/7 where you will be treated to some Scottish entertainment! Family and friends welcome.
