Baconfest "Everything Bacon & Bikes" in Lucan, Ontario

Lucan, Ontario welcomes all to Baconfest on Saturday, July 14th.

There's a roar louder than thunder and lots of leathers as the streets of Lucan, Ontario fill up with motorcycles and Bacon lovers of every kind. They rumble alone, in pairs and in packs, to park, stretch their legs and take it all in.

Baconfest -- Ontario's fastest growing, innovative, free one-day event combines the love of bacon and the passion of motorcycles. It all started in 2013 when Hogtown Cycles, a privately owned local motorcycle shop in Lucan, hosted the first Baconfest at a summer open house drawing 400 riders.

"We wanted to create something different, something unique to draw people to our shop and bring them to Lucan to stimulate the local economy. A local radio announcer, who also was a customer of Hogtown Cycles, suggested why not do a Bacon theme event to play into the company name "Hogtown" and we ran with it ? Baconfest was born!" said

Hogtown Cycles owners Mike Koricina and Teresa Burns.

Aligning with the right people and a strong community partnership with the town of Lucan were key to the success of Baconfest. Attendance has grown every year and 2017 saw 30,000+ in a town of just 2100 people.

Downtown Lucan and Hogtown Cycles are rally central. You'll enjoy food vendors serving up every type of food imaginable. Each food vendor must have at least one bacon item on their menu.

You'll find leather, jewellery, clothing, motorcycle parts and accessories, motorcycle dealers and more lining Main Street up to the arena fairgrounds and "Hogland".

Hogland is where all the action is. There are more vendors, more bacon, more beer gardens and more live music. Hogland is where you will find a ride-in show and shine, custom bike show, Baconfest Breakfast Run registration, stunt rider shows, classic biker games and burnout pit all day.

Late afternoon is when things really start to happen trackside with "Canada's Only

Original Harley Pulls" and Tribute concerts into the evening. Baconfest is a free event during the day but mid-afternoon is a paid portion and you will need tickets.

There is camping onsite at Hogland at the Hogsville Camping area that has acres of prime camping spots for tenters and the cushy fifth wheels. Although there are no hookups (it's primitive) there are washrooms and wash stations for your convenience.

At free events in and around town you will find live entertainment, beer gardens, bacon vendors, buskers, large car show, a sidewalk chalk competition, ice carvings, and a Rise To Fame competition in the family friendly activity area at Kid Zone.

Although Baconfest is a oneday event, camping has grown to accommodate early arrivals for 2018 on Thursday, July 12th and the community always hosts a Townwide Baconfest Breakfast on Sunday, July 15th the day after Baconfest.

Come for the Bacon... Stay for the Shows! Everyone is invited on July 14th.
