A Read the sentences below AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES
1 She is a singer. 2 They are good players. 3 I am an expert driver. 4 He was present there. 5 They were students.
NEGATIVE SENTENCES She is not a singer. They are not good players. I am not an expert driver. He was not present there. They were not students.
The sentences on the left hand side are AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES. The sentences on the right hand side are NEGATIVE SENTENCES
because they have the word `not' in them. Negative sentences express a refusal or denial.
B Read the following sentences
AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES
1 The gardener is watering plants. 2 The cows are grazing. 3 The baby is crying. 4 She was going home.
NEGATIVE SENTENCES
The gardener is not watering plants. The cows are not grazing. The baby is not crying. She was not going home.
The negative sentences in present continuous tense or past continuous tense is formed With: Am / is / are + ing form of verb Was / were + ing form of verb
C Read the following sentences

I do not eat an apple every day. She does not clean her room. She does not play the piano skillfully. Mohit did not arrive very late.
The negative sentences in present simple or past simple tense is formed with Do / does + not + verb (simple present) Did + not +verb (simple past)
