|Main Purpose of job: |

|To lead the College apprenticeship provision ensuring excellent relationships are developed with employers to ensure that the College meets the training|

|and skills needs of businesses in the region. |

| |

|To ensure appropriate strategies are in place to maximise the generation of income, whilst maintaining and continuously improving high levels of quality|

|in both delivery and assessment. |

| |

| |

|To be responsible for standardisation of on-programme processes to ensure high levels of effectiveness adhering to funding and data requirement. Ensure |

|that the quality of assessment practice is high and evidences appropriate delivery of provision. |

| |

|To ensure the College RoAPT registration is continued and tenders are submitted in a timely manner for procurement led contracts. |

|Responsibilities |

| |

| |

|Developing successful relationships and partnerships with local employers ensuring that the provision meets the demands of the employer sectors. |

| |

|Successful completion of annual RoAPT submission and completion and submission of all Procurement Led Tenders by the required deadlines. |

| |

|To directly line manage the Lead Coordinator - Apprenticeships, Business Development Manager, Apprenticeship Team Administrative support functions and |

|the Apprenticeship Training Co-ordinators team (Assessors). Working closely with Heads of School and academic staff to ensure appropriate delivery that |

|meets the needs of local employers and external agencies. |

| |

|To maintain and improve achievement rates through rigorous monitoring and continuous improvement strategies, working with employers, apprentices and |

|delivery teams to oversee the provision outcomes. |

| |

|Lead appropriate training for the Apprenticeship Team to enable smooth transition from existing frameworks and systems to the new standards and the new |

|reform provide a clear, concise, supportive transition for employers. |

| |

|Develop the curriculum to focus on Local Employment Partnership priorities and in collaboration with key stakeholders ensure responsiveness to employers|

|to meet skills needs and skills shortages in the local community contributing to economic growth. |

| |

|Develop a curriculum plan annually – detailing the provisions to be delivered in an academic year. |

| |

|Effectively manage the transition to Apprenticeship Standards from Apprenticeship Frameworks, with the Apprenticeship Team and College – Heads of |

|Curriculum. |

| |

|Proactively seek and nurture business development opportunities for cross College courses and programmes working closely with the Head of External |

|Partnerships to ensure that all opportunities are maximized. |

| |

|Actively work with employers to create opportunities for new starts contributing to the achievement of the overall college financial apprenticeship |

|budget allocations. |

| |

|Actively seek new opportunities to extend the apprenticeship delivery at the College. |

| |

|To monitor recruitment against income targets and enforce strategies to recover position in the event of under-performance to contribute to the |

|sustainability of the College. |

| |

|To instigate employer forums and attend external events to promote the delivery and provision for employers available through the College. |

| |

|Working with the College Marketing team – lead and develop effective marketing / apprenticeship recruitment campaigns (including Apprenticeship Week |

|annually). |

| |

|Working with the Quality of Education Team, implement robust methods of gauging employer satisfaction through feedback strategies and surveys. |

| |

|Working with the Lead Coordinator ensure that the Apprenticeship Team administrative support functions support the delivery of apprenticeship provisions|

|(and the apprenticeship learner journey) at the college, offering an effective service to customers internally / externally. |

| |

|To manage Apprenticeship Training Coordinators (Assessors) caseloads ensuring that they are at maximum capacity and actively engaging with existing and |

|new employers to increase recruitment levels that meet the overall College allocation targets whilst continually planning for growth. |

| |

|To work with Heads of School to continue to integrate apprenticeship delivery with classroom based learning through industry links and curriculum |

|design. |

| |

|Ensure that all teaching, learning and assessment is well planned and quality controlled and monitor standards through the college lesson observation |

|process. |

| |

|To manage and lead all aspects of the internal and external assessment for apprenticeship and work placed learning programmes, developing appropriate |

|standardisation processes and documentation meeting high standards. |

| |

|To manage the Lead Coordinator - Apprenticeships to ensure that Apprenticeship / Work Placed Learning provision and related processes are coherent / |

|consistent to providing the standards essential to providing outstanding education / training to students and employers |

| |

|To work with the Lead Coordinator - Apprenticeships to ensure that assessors are fully aware of the funding and data requirements relating to |

|apprenticeships supporting the drive for the College to meet funding allocation contracts. |

| |

|To undertake an audit of all aspects of the College’s assessment activities against awarding bodies’ requirements and good practice ensuring that review|

|and evaluation procedures are in place and that good practice is shared and disseminated between all. |

| |

|To work with the Functional Skills team to ensure that Apprenticeship Team are fully aware of the functional skills requirements for students to achieve|

|the full framework / standard relating to apprenticeships supporting the drive for the College to maximise success rates for overall and timely. |

| |

|To ensure that assessment policies and procedures reflect internal and external awarding body requirements meeting appropriate levels of standards |

| |

|To ensure that Apprenticeship Team conduct and adhere to the provisions of HASAW Act in accordance with Weymouth College and SFA’s safety |

|policy/guidelines. |

| |

|Working with the Health and Safety team, Ensure and that Health and Safety checks are carried out as required Identifying student requirements for |

|additional learning support and referring them when appropriate. |

| |

|Manage and lead Team / Standardisation meetings, Awarding Organisation Visits, internal and external audits to ensure standards are appropriate |

| |

|Implement and maintain control of essential aspects of the curriculum, such as Safeguarding, PREVENT, Personal Development, Behaviour, Welfare, IAG to |

|ensure that programmes focus holistically on the learner’s wellbeing, personal and social development as well as achievement of standard |

| |
