Extended hours for weekend MRI

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital's Radiology Department has extended its weekend MRI hours of operation. MRI is now available on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30 am to 11 pm. The newly added hours provide both early morning and late evening access to MRI for outpatients, inpatients and emergency patients, replicating the services offered Monday through Friday. Questions? Emergency Nurses Week is celebrated this year from October 6 to 12. This annual celebration is dedicated to those who selflessly devote themselves to safe practice and safe care. Here at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, we'd like to thank each and every member of the Emergency Department staff who make a difference in the lives of our patients.

BWFH celebrates National PA Week

Every year from October 6 to 12, we celebrate National PA Week, which recognizes the physician assistant profession. Here at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, PAs work alongside physicians, nurses and the entire interdisciplinary team to care for both inpatients and patients in the ambulatory clinics. This week, we thank them for all they do; and on Thursday, October 10, Brigham Health will honor BWH, BWFH and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute PAs at a special event.

From October 6 to October 12, we celebrate Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week. This week is set aside annually to honor healthcare food and nutrition professionals. BWFH eliminating all paper signage - deadline October 15

As part of our ongoing efforts to make Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital both inviting and easy to navigate for our patients and visitors, the Facilities Department is announcing plans to eliminate all paper signage from the hospital. Any and all paper signage that is posted in corridors, on windows and on suite doors will be removed by Facilities as of Tuesday, October 15. Questions? Want to help out in your community? Volunteer with BWFH at Community Servings - October 16

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital's Community Health and Wellness Department is seeking volunteers to help prepare meals for critically ill individuals and their families in our community. Join us on Wednesday, October 16, from 6 to 8 pm at Community Servings (179 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain) to peel, chop and package meals for Community Servings' clients. For All the Lives We Touch: Hand Hygiene Celebration - October 17

Over the past year, Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital has increased its hand hygiene compliance rate from 71 to 95 percent, thanks to a clear mission, committed leadership, an efficient team structure, comprehensive communication and analytics and the ongoing efforts of local leaders, frontline staff and support services. In appreciation of the tremendous progress we have made with our hand hygiene compliance rates, and to pledge our commitment to keep patients safe by keeping our hands clean, all faculty and staff are invited to a hand hygiene celebration on Thursday, October 17, from 6 to 7:30 am in the third floor lobby and from 11:30 am to 1 pm outside the Cafeteria.
