Discovery Corner Preschool in Lancaster, PA

Discovery Corner Preschool Extended Day Enrichment ClubsWe are proud to announce the new Enrichment Club program at DCP for the 2020-2021 school year! These clubs offer children ages 3-5 who are interested in different topics a fun, educational club experience to build their knowledge in an age friendly way. Each club has hands-on activities and a different monthly theme that is sure to meet the interests of all preschoolers. Clubs are beneficial for parents who may need extended hours, allowing for that traditional preschool experience but with hours that work for more families. DCP enrichment clubs will take the skills your child is learning in preschool and provide fun-filled activities based on the arts, sports, and much more! DCP enrichment clubs will meet each day from 1:00-3:00pm. You may choose from a two day, three day, or five day option when enrolling your child in clubs. Payment for each month’s club will be due with that month’s tuition. For example, if you enroll your child in clubs for September and January, payment for each would be due with the corresponding month’s tuition payment. You may choose as many or as few clubs as you want. As a bonus, families that register (not pay ahead of time) for all clubs (September-may) will receive a 10% discount. Families that register and pay up front for all clubs (September-May) will receive a 15% discount. Children need to be three years old to enroll in clubs, but do not need to be in the Hungry Caterpillars (three year old) class. As soon as a child turns three, they are eligible to join clubs. The deadline to sign up for a club is the 15th day of the month before that club. (Example: If you wish to register for October’s club, you would need to do so by September 15th.) You can register for clubs by submitting the attached sign up form to the director, emailing the director with your club choices, or filling out the sign up sheet on the parent communication board outside of preschool chapel. Those interested in September’s club should sign up as soon as possible. Payment will not be due until September’s tuition is due. Space is limited, so registering early is encouraged. **Please note: DCP reserves the right to cancel any month’s club due to low enrollment.** Description of ClubsSeptember – Literacy: books come Alive! Better than book club for children, books are coming alive all September long at DCP! Each week will focus on an author or type of literature such as Laura Numeroff’s “If you Give a ____” books. September character trait: Gentleness October – Sports: Learn the basics and how to be a team player! November – Healthy Me: healthy food choices and good habits! From broccoli to brushing teeth, children will be exposed to a variety of healthy habits. We will explore natural, whole foods that God created to make our bodies strong and happy, and learn how habits such as sleep, rest, grooming and teeth brushing help to keep our bodies happy too! December – Outer Space: Exploring the planets that God created! We’ll blast off into the deep, dark expanse known as outer space! Through books, videos, crafts and experiments we’ll discover together the planets and stars that God made. We will look at artwork from famous artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Vincent Van Gogh and Bob Ross for inspiration, and also take time to be inspired by God’s world to create our own unique masterpieces! April – Animals: Big and small God made them all! Animal club will be a roaring good time while we explore all the animals of the earth! This club will focus on the bible story ‘Noah’s Ark’ to expose children to a variety of different animals. Animal club will use books, videos, songs, and crafts to bring wild animals to life for preschoolers! May – Gardening: Digging in the dirt and nurturing new life!
