LanktonDate: 8.2019Department: Population Health HR Approval: nnl Date: 8.2019JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of UW Health Population Health leadership, the Program Manager, Healthy Kids Collaborative is responsible for designing and managing the implementation, operations, and evaluation of policy, systems, and environmental change for community health promotion in Dane County. Using a Collective Impact Model, the Program Manager provides leadership and support to all areas of the Healthy Kids Collaborative, including the Leadership Council, multiple Action Teams and community organization partners to promote the wellbeing of children and families in Dane County. The Program Manager has a high degree of skill in community engagement and health equity assessment, public policy development, community and professional outreach education, and coalition development. Additionally, the Program Manager serves as the lead contact and mentor for staff, community partners, and volunteers Work involves extensive public contact and includes acting as a liaison with Collaborative partners, other community partners, project consultants, and funders. The Program Manager is responsible for directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to staff within the Healthy Kids Collaborative programs. This position has broad responsibility for managing all aspects of the Healthy Kids Collaborative and works with considerable independence. The Program Manager is the official spokesperson for the Collaborative in Dane County and throughout the state of Wisconsin on public and community health initiatives.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop processes for identifying, prioritizing and resourcing initiatives to improve children’s wellbeing through policy, systems and environmental approaches across projects, teams, and in collaboration with community partners. Ensure program activities are coordinated, aligned and sequenced with coalitions and partner capabilities, organizational or strategic initiatives and/or other improvement activities.Lead the evaluation and operational monitoring of active initiatives and projects Identify and manage funding sources such as grants and philanthropy to support community health initiatives and work in collaboration with appropriate departments and teams to secure fundingCoordinate internal and external communications on the work of the CollaborativeProvide leadership and foster partnerships, cross-training, teamwork, engagement, and talent developmentPlan, coordinate, assign and account for work of team membersLead community or statewide coalitions; serve as a UW Health liaison for key community partnerships and other specific program collaborationsALL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS MUST BE PERFORMED CONSISTENT WITH THE UW HEALTH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducationMinimumBachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Social Work, Business Administration, or related fieldPreferredMaster’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Social Work, Business Administration, or related fieldWork ExperienceMinimum Three (3) years progressively responsible experience in community health improvement, health system management and / or community collaborationsPreferredThree (3) years progressively responsible experience in partnering with community leaders and organizations in communities where UW Health facilities are located Experience in an academic health system or integrated healthcare delivery system Grant writing experience Public policy experience at the local or state level: education of elected officials, knowledge of processes for advocating on behalf of children’s issues, and government functions/ organizational structureLicenses & CertificationsMinimum PreferredRequired Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of groups, professionals, agencies, community members and parents/childrenStrong organizational skills and ability to coordinate people and projects in a fiscally responsible mannerServe as an expert in community health seminars, panels and committees at the county, regional and statewide levelAbility to work effectively as a liaison with community-based organizations, health care providers, government agenciesTeam-based management and leadership skillsAbility to work independently and prioritize workStrong written, verbal, and lecture communication skillsStrong understanding of social media strategiesProficient in the use of software programs such as word processing, email, and data spread sheetsAGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCY (Clinical jobs only)Identify age-specific competencies for direct and indirect patient care providers who regularly assess, manage and treat patients.Instructions: Indicate the age groups of patients served either by direct or indirect patient care by checking the appropriate boxes below.
