Shelley C. Safian is an associate professor of medical billing and coding for Herzing University Online. Ms. Safian has published four books on coding, and a fifth book on HIM compliance. She has been a member of AHIMA for many years, and sits on the Clinical Terminology and Classification Practice Council. Ms. Safian is presently working on her PhD in Health Services Administration.
