De BURGH FAMILY MN647; ACC 7289A

De BURGH FAMILY

The collection consists mainly of correspondence between the de Burgh, Brockman and Lefroy

families who were related through Henry de Burgh¡¯s marriage to Annette Elizabeth Lefroy in 1878

and Anna Louisa de Burgh¡¯s marriage to Henry Brockman in 1874. Business documents relating to

the family properties are included together with Irish family histories. The manuscript papers and

correspondence relating to ¡°On Australia¡¯s Rim¡± edited by William John de Burgh and published by

Hesperian Press in 2006 also form part of the collection. Two brief family trees of the de Burgh and

Lefroy families are included to assist in identifying family members.
