Crawford Hartman's and his wife, Helen Blanchard Hartman's genealogical research on the Blanchard family. The Barker, Countiss, Dyckman, Green, Hall, Robbins, Seitzinger, Shurburne, and Vermilye families are treated to a lesser extent. Also present are correspondence of Rev. E.B. Blanchard, Rev. Silas M. Blanchard, and other members of the Blanchard family concerning the family's genealogy; appointments, leases, deeds and wills, 17441818, of the Davidson, Blanchard, Nutte and Robbins families; and portrait photographs..

Biographical note

Joseph Crawford Hartman (1894-ca. 1976), was an amateur genealogist. His wife, Helen Blanchard Hartman, was a descendant of of Thomas Blanchard who emigrated from England to America on the ship "Jonathan" in 1639 and settled in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Scope and content note

The collection consist primarily of notes, correspondence, charts, clippings, and miscellaneous printed material, ca. 1940s-1970s, produced by J. Crawford Hartman's and his wife, Helen Blanchard Hartman's genealogical research on the Blanchard family.
