Quidel Triage NT-proBNP Rapid treatment at the Point-of-Care

Quidel Triage NT-proBNP Test.

Used with the Quidel Triage MeterPro for the quantitative determination of N-terminal pro Brain Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) in EDTA anticoagulated whole blood and plasma specimens.

Empower heart failure treatment decisions or risk stratify Acute Coronary Syndrome at the point of care or in the laboratory.

Heart Failure (HF) is an increasingly common condition with growing prevalence due to the ageing population.1 Globally there are over 15 million patients with HF.1 HF is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, and high healthcare costs.2 Early diagnosis and proper treatment may have positive effects on HF patients' re-hospitalization and can improve their life expectancy and quality of life.2

Knowledge of circulating blood levels of NT-proBNP can aid in various clinical applications. The test can be used:4

As an aid in the diagnosis of individuals suspected of having congestive heart failure (also referred to as heart failure). As an aid for the risk stratification of patients with heart failure. As an aid for the risk stratification of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). As and aid in the assessment of increased risk for cardiovascular events and mortality in patients at risk for HF who have stable coronary artery disease (CAD).

Quality results at point-of-care speed.

Measurable range: 20 ? 35,000 pg/mL Excellent Correlation vs. Reference Method3

Quidel Triage NT-proBNP vs Roche Elecsys proBNP.

Analysis showed an excellent correlation between the two methods with a coefficient of correlation r = 0.98. The area under the curve (AC) = 0.93.

Empower rapid treatment

May reduce time to decision, allowing quicker treatment initiation. May decrease patient time spent in the ED4 and length of stay.5 May reduce the number of patients rehospitalized.4 May improve clinical and financial outcomes.4,5

Easy to implement, easy to use3,6

Simple whole blood or plasma procedure. Rapid, accurate, quantitative results in approximately 20 minutes. Full connectivity to laboratory information systems (LIS) and hospital information system (HIS).
