Completion of this course with the Advance Studies option can result in three college credits from SUNY ERIE.COURSE OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTATIONSUpon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:Learn how a Proprietorship is started and the accounting transactions requiredKnow what the Accounting Equation is and how to use itLearn what a Balance Sheet is and how to prepare itUnderstand T Accounts Journalize successfully and accuratelyUnderstand Posting ProceduresKnow how Bank Accounts and Cash Control Systems are usedUse Worksheets and adjust entriesCreate Basic Financial StatementsComplete an Accounting CycleUnderstand a Merchandising BusinessLearn about the General Ledger, Account Payables, and Accounts ReceivableKnow how Payroll is completedComplete End-of-Fiscal period work for a Merchandising BusinessEVALUATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCEStudents are expected to be punctual and present at all scheduled classes. Students are responsible for meeting the objectives of this course and for participating in class. Warnings and additional discipline will be recorded in a notebook. Unless otherwise noted each student will start fresh each day with a warning if needed.The FIRST time a student breaks a rule they will receive a DOCUMENTED WARNING.The SECOND time a student breaks a rule THEIR PARENTS WILL BE CALLED.The THIRD time a student breaks a rule THEY WILL HAVE A THIRTY (30) MINUTE TEACHER DETENTION.The FOURTH time a student breaks a rule A DISCIPLINE REPORT WILL BE SENT TO THE VICE PRINCIPAL and the student will have a PRINCIPAL DETENTION.SEVERE CLAUSE – Any student who flagrantly disobeys rules will BE SENT TO THE OFFICE AND HELD OUT OF CLASS..REWARDS – If the classroom rules are followed consistently and no consequences are delivered, the personal and class-wide rewards written below will be administered.
