American History Biography Project

You will, by yourself, be creating a project that tells the story of a significant person from

American history. To give you more relevance/buy in, you are allowed to do any individual over the course of our studies this year or pick from someone from the late19th or the 20th century. All

topics must be approved before you begin your research.

This assignment will count as 100 point summative grade.

You will have some choice in the product, or how you present the information from your research; see the list below for ideas. All project products must be approved by the instructor and will be presented orally in class. This project will have a similar structure to the "Snapshot Autobiography" project in that you must find the factual information about your person, like in the "About the Author" panel, as well as at least 3-4 events that shaped this person's role in both their own personal life and what made/makes them significant in American history.

Be sure to carefully read the rubric on the back. It will be used to grade your product and presentation.

Possible project products may include, but are not limited to:

Song (multi-verse)

Children's storybook/pop-up book

Poem (multi-verse)

Interview/ TV show

Scrapbook

Reenactment
