WhackPrincipalGreetings Parents and Families of Mill Creek Elementary School (MCES):My name is Mr. Eddie Whack and I’m extremely happy to join the staff of MCES as the new principal. I’m very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality elementary school experience. As a parent, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. Before joining MCES, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 17 years. Some of the roles include the following: Principal (2yrs), Principal Intern (1yr), Assistant Principal (5yrs.), Master Teacher (2yrs) with administrative duties, Instructional Coach (1yr), Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) Evaluator, 21st Century After School Site Coordinator, and Career Teacher (6yrs).Currently, I’m a veteran who served 5 years in the US Army. My Educational background includes a Master of Education in School Leadership, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, an Associate Degree in Business Management, and numerous courses completed in the educational field. I believe that great schools are the result of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at MCES. In order to do this, I will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction, access to professional development, and encouraging them to reach out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students are prepared for college and 21st century careers.I will be working closely with our leadership team, school and community stakeholders to guarantee that all of our scholars are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical for them during their elementary school years. I will celebrate student successes, small and large. I encourage you to get involved with the School Improvement Council (SIC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to ensure that your voices are heard.Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.Sincerely,Eddie J.
