The twelveclassroom structure was erected at a cost of $65,000, and Mr. C.C. Woodson began his tenure of thirtyfive years in the office of principal with a first faculty of thirteen; andWhereas, as part of the consolidation plan of 1970, Carver High was converted into Carver Junior High School, and all students in grades 1012 were placed under one roof at the present Spartanburg High School; andWhereas, during the years the Class of 1965 studied at Carver the teachers, with care and encouragement, imparted knowledge and guidance and a sense of hope for their futures, while the school provided a well-rounded education on all fronts necessary for success in every aspect of life; andWhereas, notably, the Class of 1965 traveled to New York for its senior trip and came home with landmarks and unforgettable experiences etched in memories and hearts. These events were rivaled only by the junior/senior prom and graduation itself, which sent forth one hundred sixtyfive students into the world; andWhereas, in recognition of nearly half a century of achievement on the part of Carver High School’s Class of 1965, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pleasure in saluting the class at this special time in their history. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the members of the 1965 graduating class of Carver High School on the occasion of their fortyfifth anniversary, and commend the class members for their many contributions to their communities, states, and nation.Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the historian of Carver High School, Class of 1965.XX ................
