Assignments/Deadlines: Work is due the day it is assigned. I should turn it into the appropriate period drawer in front of the classroom. Some assignments take more than one day to complete. These assignments will have specific deadlines.

Saving of Work: I will save all work on my OneDrive on the class computer.

Grading Policy: 50% Major Grades

50% Daily Grades

Semester Average = 1st Nine Weeks (42.5%) + 2nd Nine Weeks (42.5%) + Semester Exam (15%)

Make-up Work: If I am absent, it is my responsibility to check the calendar and assignments in Schoology to know what I am missing. I will be given time before or after school to make up the work done on the computers in class. Time allotted will depend on the days absent and the assignment missed.

Late Work: I will strive not to turn in any work late. If my instructor accepts a late assignment, it will be for a reduced grade (-15 points for each day late). Late assignments must be turned in before the end of a grading period (3-week progress reports or 9 week grades). Assignments later than 3 days will be accepted at the discretion of my teacher for a percentage less than 50%.

Lab Time: I am welcome in the lab before/after school on designated tutorial days provided Mr. Thom does not have duty or meetings. I need to obtain a pass from him to attend tutorials. My scheduled tutorials are Mon. & Thurs. 2:55pm – 3:45pm and Tues. & Fri. 7:00am – 7:25am.

Maintenance of Equipment/Furniture: It is my responsibility to keep my work area clean. I will report any computer malfunctions to my instructor immediately. The computers in this class are brand new, therefore; I will not bring food or drinks into this lab (water only is allowed). IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT WE TAKE CARE OF THE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT IN THIS CLASS.

Computers/Software/Electronic Devices: I have signed an Acceptable Use Policy/Digital Citizenship Acceptance form.

• Do not change any settings or the desktop background on the computers.

• Do not install new programs or delete existing programs (including icons).

• Only work only in the software necessary to do my assigned work.

• LOG OUT when done, and leave my station in working order for the next person.

• If I need to use different software than assigned, I MUST get permission from my instructor.

• Do not have cell phones out during class. Cell phones should be stored in the Cell Phone Caddie when you enter the classroom.

• No downloading or playing games on these computers.

• No personal email during class time (see Classroom Digital Device Policy).

Failure to abide by the computer usage policies will lead to severe consequences including loss of computer rights.

Cell phones are often used as tools for cheating and/or are usually a distraction to the student. DON’T HAVE YOUR PHONE OUT DURING CLASS OR IT WILL BE TAKEN UP.

Printers: I will only print items that are part of my assignment in this class. Paper and printer ink are of a very limited supply. Once is it is used, we will not be able print anymore.

Passes: I must carry a pass with me if I am given permission to leave this room. I will sign it, date it, and designate a location in the In-n-Out Log whenever I leave/return to class. I will bring back the pass when I return to class. Passes are privileges.

Opportunities: Travis High School competes in various invitational, district, regional, and state UIL and other computer programming competitions throughout the year. I will be given the opportunity to compete in these competitions to further challenge me in learning Computer Science.
