Technical Drawing and Design Syllabus

Overview of class:
This drafting course is intended to teach the basics of technical drawing and CAD processes.
Specific topics that will be covered throughout the year include:
Basic level AUTO CAD tools Inventor tools and techniques
Sketching and Lettering Computer Based Geometric Modeling
Use of Equipment Feature Based Parametric Modeling
Multi-view Drawing Applying Constraints and Dimensions
Dimensioning Modifying Sketches & Dimensions
Section Views Basic Architectural drawing 3D Printing Techniques
Grades will be earned using the Amherst County grading scale of:
A 90-100
B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
F 59 and BELOW
All classwork, Projects, Tests and Attendance/Participation will be averaged to obtain the nine weeks grade.
Attendance/Participation will count as 20%
Tests will count 20%
Projects will be graded by averaging the following: Craftsmanship, Correctness and Participation 20%
Daily Drawings will count 40%
Class Rules
1. You will observe all guidelines in the Amherst County High School handbook.
2. Intentional dangerous or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated as they are a direct threat to the safety of yourself and those around you.
3. Daily attendance is required.
4. Staying on track equals completing on time!
