Your explanation should be no longer than two (2) pages and include diagrams. Be sure your name appears on the top right of each page.

PART FOUR – Read the Case Study below and answer the following questions.

1. What stress management techniques might be useful for Matthew?

2. How can Matthew promote his own healthy active living?

Your case study answers need to be a minimum of 500 words total, double-spaced, typed in size 12 font. Be sure to include your name on the top right of each page.

Matthew is a 21-year-old college student studying to be garden landscaper. He is slightly overweight but always has been, and this has never affected his activity level or participation in sports. Matthew plays social hockey every Wednesday night with friends at 10pm at a local arena. He also goes skiing 3 times during the winter but is fairly inactive over the summer because he is usually working for a lawn maintenance company. While at college he volunteers as a night watchman for the college gym and works shifts at a local fast food restaurant.

Matthew lives with two friends in a small apartment located four blocks from the college campus. They take turns cooking for each other but often eat out and usually throw together meals using whatever ingredients are lying around. They live close to a farmer’s market but rarely use fresh ingredients, and they consume alcohol an average of four nights a week.

Matthew suffers from anxiety due to his busy college schedule, his part-time jobs, and his tendency to waste time. He finds himself submitting assignments late or having to stay up the night before they are due to get them finished. This stresses him out further and he usually resorts to spending the next day in front of the TV to deal with the frustration. On a few occasions this has resulted in discipline from his teachers and warnings from the restaurant manager where he works because he has missed shifts.

You will have time in class to complete this task but may be required to spend time working on it at home.

All four (4) parts of your assessment are due to last day of class this semester.

The due date is ………………………………………

Please review the rubric for marking to be sure that you have covered the requirements of this task.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this task, or will have circumstances resulting in a late submission, please talk to your teacher BEFORE the due date.
