Job Summary The Attendance Secretary fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by maintaining and managing all pertinent student information with regard to attendance records. This position reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.

Essential Duties Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and

Diocese Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters Provides student data entry and record maintenance for the Administration Assists with all office duties as needed Requests payment for all accounts payable for the school with approval from the principal Purchases all school/student books, materials, office supplies, and equipment with approval of

principal Gives medication to students as needed and keeps accurate records, including medications,

physician's notes and medical files Collects attendance from the faculty each day Maintains accurate student attendance records Collects and files student notes concerning attendance and medical circumstances Contacts parents for attendance and medical information or permission Assists the administration with starting and ending of the school year Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support the school Communicates effectively and responds to messages in a timely manner Issues documents and forms to students as needed Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of use of office equipment Ability to be self-motivated and work independently Ability to work with others and relate to students Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form

Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience as a secretary or administrative assistant Medical background preferred

Experience in Vision/Hearing and Scoliosis screening preferred

Certifications and Training: Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first

week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
