Morning Announcements November 6, 2020Please stand for the pledge…Please take a moment and reflect on the activities of the day. NJHS and WEB are sponsoring a food drive for the Thanksgiving holidays beginning on Monday, 11/9 and running through Wednesday 11/18. Please bring in any nonperishable food items to your homeroom classes. All donated items will go to a food pantry in St. John’s area. Today is the last day to enter the raffle for the NERF football or the light up bedroom sign. Please see Dean Echevarria during lunch to enter. Basketball tryout information is available online in the gym, and front office. Boys tryouts begin the week of Nov.? 30 and Girls tryouts begin the week of?Dec. 7.On Saturday Oct 31st, several athletes from Fruit Cove competed at Florida MIDDLE SCHOOL Cross Country State Championship in Lakeland, FL. We are so proud of their hard work!*The girls took Second Place Club Division: Riley Newkirk (23rd medalist in the State), Valeria Tafurt, Sarah Rose, Sofia Ramirez, and Sarah Rocheleau.?? *Addy Souza, Jordan Magloff, and Kendra Magloff competed in the Open Race with Jordan earning a 10th place medal. *Cameron Newkirk, Stephen Preddy, Joshua Hazlewood also competed in the Boys Open Race. *Greatest accomplishment was awarded to 3 athletes from Fruit Cove who are now THE BOYS XC TEAM STATE CHAMPIONS: Noah Gil (28th medalist), Gavin Stopa, Jackson Lafser and Brody Petrick. These young athletes trained all summer and fall overcoming so many challenges to achieve this highest XC Team honor. They will remember this moment the rest of their lives.
