Today’s Worship Plan

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “...Whoever sows sparingly will also reap also sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”… Please notice the offering box in the entranceway; where we cheerfully place our offerings in the collection box. Your contributions to God help us preach the Gospel here in Cedar Key, around the world and carry out works of benevolence to the glory of Christ our Lord.

Welcome Visitors and Members! We hope that your experience today will add something meaningful to your life in Christ Jesus. If you are new to the area and would like more information about this church, let us know. If you are just visiting our island community, then we hope to see you again. Would you like to confess your faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins today? Come forward during the last song and we will assist you in obeying Christ as Lord – or let us know your desire some other time. We can arrange a time for your baptism into Christ. If you are a Christian and wandered away from home with the Lord, you may make your desire known and we will pray for God to forgive your sins, and fully restore you to Jesus Christ and joyful fellowship with other Christians.

Share the Good News! Free Bible studies and much more are available at our congregation’s web site Cedar Key Church of Christ. We also have the church’s weekly Bulletin on our web site.

Choose Life or Death

And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” (Isaiah 6:9-10 ESV)

Have you ever seriously asked yourself - what is God’s purpose for me on this earth? Better yet, have we taken this issue befoe the throne of God in prayer?

Since the earliest history of humanity recorded in the Bible, we learn that God created human beings in his own image. This was extremely generous and risky at the same time. We are intelligent beings, we are emotional and we have the quality of volition – the ability or power to choose our own destiny. God has given us the power to choose to follow in his good and perfect way or choose the evil ways of Satan.

(Isaiah 14:12) This being who also has very high intellectual power but he has chosen to be the source of evil in the world.

(1 John 3:8) Satan is the number one prognosticator of all forms of evil. Everyone who chooses to do evil is following the deceitfulness of the Devil.

(1 John 5:18) Satan is described as that “evil one or wicked one”. His power is limited to time and space. As long as this physical creation endures, humans must contend with the Devil. Those who follow the Son are shielded by Christ.

(John 10:10) Jesus describes the devil as a thief and destroyer. He wants to steal our very soul and destroy all good on earth.

(Revelation 12:9) Satan is also called the great deceiver and he has his angels who help achieve his diabolical purposes.

(John 8:44) Satan is a murderer and a liar and great imposter who accuses those who choose to follow Christ. (Rev. 12:10)

Those who choose to follow Christ as Lord are able to win the war with Satan. 1. Jesus is greater than Satan (1 Jn 4:4) But we must respect the power of the Devil. Even the arch angel Michael only confronted Satan in the Lord’s name (Jude 9) 2. Know our weaknesses where we will likely be tempted. (1 Thess, 5:22) 3. Stronly resist the Devil by humbly submitting to God. (James 4:7-10; 4. Be prepared with the whole armor of God. (Eph. 6:13-17) Devil and Demons are real. 1 Timothy 4:1 DB
