EVENT INFORMATION

CAROUSEL PRIVATE PARTY ROOMS

Woodland Park Zoo's Historic Carousel features hand-carved vintage carousel horses and two chariots, one of which has been retrofitted to accommodate wheelchairs. Dedicated in 2006, the Historic Carousel was a gift from Linda and Tom Allen and the Alleniana Foundation. Solar panels were added in 2011 with help from Seattle City Light, producing enough energy to offset the carousel's 100,000 annual rides.

A wall of windows provides the Carousel Party Rooms with a full view of the carousel, and the one-way glass maintains privacy. The two rooms are equal in size with access to the carousel and outdoors.

ROOM CAPACITY POLICY The maximum capacity for one room is 25 (50 for two rooms) due to our fire code policy. If your guest count exceeds the number of people included in your package, thus exceeding room capacity, you may be subject to certain repercussions as outlined in your reservation agreement. All guests must have their admission fees paid for as part of the party package total regardless of the guests' membership status. This is due to utilizing the private event space.

DECORATIONS AND PARTY SUPPLIES

The Carousel Party rooms include carousel horse cut-outs on two walls and the best feature of all ? a view of the carousel itself!

Party host is welcome to hang d?cor from the walls with masking or painters tape. Fasteners that leave a mark or residue are not permitted. We encourage the use of compostable or recyclable party supplies and decor. There are garbage, recycling and compost receptacles in each party room.

Tables measure 6'x2?' ? party host is encouraged to bring in table cloths.

RESTRICTIONS

The health and well-being of our animals is our primary goal. As such, certain items are prohibited on zoo grounds, including: balloons, straws, pi?atas, balls, Frisbees and other flying objects, confetti, glitter, clowns, mascots, costumes and other "circus" type items, pets, skateboards, bicycles and firearms.

SITE RESERVATION AND DEPOSIT

To reserve a birthday party room, provide the Birthday Party Coordinator with the following information:

? Your first choice day and time ? Your full name ? Street address ? Daytime phone number

? Email address ? Birthday child's name ? Birthday child's age they are turning ? Approximate size of your group

If your desired date and time are available, the Birthday Party Coordinator will email a reservation agreement to hold the date and time and add any activities to your party. Upon receipt of the reservation agreement, party host has 3 days to review, sign, and return the agreement with payment information included to secure the date and time.

Venue Reservation Policy: Party host will be charged full package fee plus additional activities upon booking. All fees and payments are non-refundable. Minimum 3 weeks' notice to book a party.

FOOD OPTIONS

Levy Restaurants, Woodland Park Zoo's exclusive, on site catering company, can provide scrumptious treats and refreshing beverages for your party. Your Birthday Party Coordinator can provide you with a party menu.

Party host is welcome to provide food and (non-alcoholic) beverages. If providing own food and beverage, party host is responsible for providing service ware, cups, plates, utensils, etc. No deliveries to the Zoo entrances are accepted. No food from outside caterers is permitted.

AMBASSADOR ANIMALS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $300 Invite an animal to your event! A Zoo Experience Specialist will introduce you to one of our amazing creatures and discuss their impressive adaptations for survival. Meet any of the following animals up close: beautiful birds of prey; an armored armadillo; bizarre arthropods (tarantulas, giant walkingsticks); remarkable reptiles; a prickly porcupine or a friendly chicken. Your guests will have a wild time!

All programs are 30 minutes in length and are subject to climate and availability of animals.

ANIMAL ADOPTION PACKAGE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $100 Treat the guest of honor to a ZooParent animal adoption! Kit includes plush animal of your choice, personalized adoption certificate, animal fact sheet and photo, window decal and recognition online and on zoo grounds. Best of all, your gift helps fund the daily care and feeding of all the zoo inhabitants, plus $5 directly supports the zoo's conservation efforts around the world.

Scour zoo grounds, read exhibit signage, and get creative to find the answers to your hunt. Choose from four bio-zones: African Savanna, Northern Trail and Tropical Rain Forest. Great for adults and kids over age 10.
