9/08 One of the primary ways secondary student historians gain understanding of the past is by reading (both primary and secondary sources) and then writing about it. Therefore, students of US history will also be assessed on the reading and writing benchmarks that they are mastering in English class. United States History Course will be structured as follows with students showing proficiency at the end of each five-week period in each of the following areas:
