MEMORANDUM FOR THE 150th AFROTC CADET GROUP

FROM: AFROTC DET 150/COC

SUBJECT: Leadership Laboratory (LLAB) Syllabus (Fall 05)

1. General Information:

This syllabus applies to the Fall 2005 semester. Specific week-by-week activities are to be found in the Operations Orders (Ops Orders). The Ops Orders may be found on the bulletin board in the 3rd floor hallway of Van Fleet Hall. You must check this bulletin board every week by midnight Tuesday.

2. Day, Time, and Location of Leadership Lab Sessions:

Leadership Lab is held 7th-8th periods, 1355 – 1550 hours, on Thursdays. The location will be specified weekly on the Ops Orders. The location for the first LLAB will be in the Reitz Union Auditorium on the 2nd floor. LLAB days for this semester are:

Aug 25; Sep 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; Oct 6, 13, 20, 27; Nov 3, 10, 17; Dec 1

PFTs, Dining Out, Awards Ceremony, and Formal Parade are mandatory Leadership Lab activities, however due to timing and facility constraints, they will be held outside the normal LLAB period. Dates and times will be posted on the bulletin board in the 3rd floor hallway of Van Fleet Hall at least one week in advance.

3. Attendance Policy:

There are 14 Leadership Labs this semester. Students must attend at least 80 percent of scheduled LLAB sessions to be eligible for a passing grade. For this fall, 80 percent equates to no more than 2 absences. This attendance requirement is mandatory and is not flexible! (AFOATSI 36-2017).

4. Grading and Evaluation Procedures:

Leadership Lab is Pass/Fail with the exception of Santa Fe Community College students who will be given a grade due to SFCC’s inability to use the Pass/Fail system. SFCC students will either receive an A for meeting requirements or will fail LLAB. Each cadet must satisfy these three requirements in order to receive a passing grade for LLAB:

a. Meet the 80 percent attendance requirement as mentioned in paragraph 3 above. Cadets must also meet the 80 percent PT attendance requirement to pass LLAB.

b. Take (attempt) the physical fitness test in accordance with AFOATSI 36-2007

c. Must not show indifference to military training.

Performance in LLAB does not affect the AFROTC academic course grade.
