1. Definition, origin and development of Society- Islamic conception regarding the formation and growth of Society, Jahiliya society of Arabia and its change in the Islamic Period.

2. The Charter of Medina and the farewell sermon of the Prophet (sm)- grant of fundamental rights, social security and outlines of ideal society.

3. Concept of family in Islam-the marriage – the duties and responsibilities of the parents towards children – duties of the children towards the parents-the status of women.

4. Component units of Islamic Society- the slaves, the non-Muslims (Dhimmis), Mawali-their rights duties and social status.

5. Social stratification and the growth of new aristocratic society in Islam.

6. Social movements against Arab domination-the Shuubiyah movement, the Zanj movement.

7. Urf and Ad, at- their implication in the society-life of the Muslims.

8. An outline history of the Umayyad and Abbasid society
