The History of Academic Disciplines

After studying sociology for the past six years, I noticed a gap in the literature on women in the history of sociology, which led me to believe that women did not play an important role in the development of sociology. After reading literature by female sociologist today, I read about women called the founding sisters, and the role they played in sociology. This led me to question, what events happened in history that caused or contributed to the exclusion of women in the history of sociology. After doing historical research, I found a number of events that took place and contributed to women’s exclusion from the history of sociology.
