The purpose of today’s activity is to examine the process of apartheid as well as the effects the apartheid system had on South Africa and its people. Apartheid is the rigid separation of races (black, white, ‘coloured’ and Asian) that occurred in South Africa. The apartheid system was enforced by laws, police and government actions.

Directions: Go to each of the ten stations and spend 1-2 minutes looking at the pictures or reading the documents. Then answer the questions associated with that station. There is no specific order.
