• History of the relationship between faith, religion, spirituality, and social work·
• Appropriate relationship and boundaries between the client’s faith and the social·
• Spiritual assessment as part of a holistic strengths assessment process
Learning Objectives
Individual who participate in this training will be able to:
• Articulate at least three ways social workers can tap the resources of the faith community to provide more effective social work services for their clients
• Describe how professional social work values and the NASW code of ethics both support and provide appropriate boundaries for social workers’ efforts to integrate faith, religion, and spirituality in their practice
• Define at least 3 ways in which a client’s faith, religion, or spirituality can be a strength or a resource that can be tapped to help them reach their various treatment goals.
