During this past summer, your friend visiting from Spain had many questions about George Washington – which at the time you were unable to answer. You previously knew that George Washington was considered a hero to Americans, but you weren’t sure exactly why. Now you’ve learned he earned much of this immense popularity while serving as the Commander-in-Chief of U.S. forces during the American Revolution. You are to write a letter to your Spanish friend who has now returned to Spain. In your letter you are to list and thoroughly explain at least three (3) instances that General Washington during the Revolutionary War exhibited superior leadership skills. You are to be as specific and detailed as possible. Somewhere in your letter you are to incorporate at least five (5) major places or things named after this great man. You are to assume the reader is unfamiliar with any aspect of American history. In your opening paragraph you should set the stage for the Revolutionary War. Your letter should be from 2 to 4 pages in length, 1.5 spacing, size 12 font, and grammatically correct. You are expected to obtain information from sources not used in class. Therefore, you should also include a works cited page.
