Tube paints of Windsor Newton, Grumbacker, or Cotmans

These paints are more expensive than some, but have more pigment and you will use less paint.

I use the following colors:

Alizarin Crimson Burnt Sienna Burnt umber Permanent rose

Aureolin yellow Cerulean Blue Ultramarine blue Windsor Green

Antwerp blue Quinacridone gold Colbalt Blue

Watercolor tray of 8 to 16 colors if you don't bring tube paints. Prang is a good brand.

If you paint with tube paints, you may want to purchase a paint tray with a lid to squeeze out your paints into the divided spaces.

Pencil and eraser

Water pan or bowl

Spray bottle

Paint palette or large plastic lid

Small natural sponge

Miskit (optional)

Masking tape

Paper towels

Small hairdryer

Assorted round and flat brushes of soft synthetic hair. A wide flat brush for washes.

3 -sheets of 140 lb. Arches watercolor paper or a block of watercolor paper.

A piece of large plywood to stretch paper . (Only for those who buy single sheets)

Small container of salt (canning, table, or sea salt)

Assorted photos that may be possible for paintings.

Collage items that you may want to bring:

A magazine with good printed color

Handmade paper or colored tissue paper

Decorative metallic ribbon

A decorative napkin

Old sheets of music

Most of these items can be purchased at Hobby Lobby , Creative Crafts and Frame, and Ben Franklins. Occasionally, Hobby Lobby and Creative Crafts have some of these items on sale .
