GDOT holding Open House for US 441 widening projects

EATONTON - The Georgia Department of Transportation is hosting an August 4 Public Information Open House at Putnam County High School on its proposed plans to widen US 441 from two to four lanes in Morgan and Putnam counties. The event lasts from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The proposed Morgan project leg of US 441 runs from the Putnam County line to north of Pierce Dairy Road, while the Putnam section picks up from the county boundary through to Sherwood Avenue just north of Eatonton. The projects combine for nearly 18 miles of widened highway and a total transportation investment over $79 million.

This open house offers the public an opportunity to view project displays, ask questions and comment. It will be informal with no presentation.

The meeting site is accessible to persons with disabilities. Accommodations for people with disabilities can be arranged with advance notice by calling Cissy McNure at 478.553.3407.

Written statements will be accepted concerning this project until Thursday, August 18. Individuals may submit/mail statements to:
