NO ALCOHOL ON CDSA PROPERTY, AT ANY TIME!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOR CONVENIENCE, A DROP BOX HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON THE FRONT DOOR OF THE SOCIAL HALL. WE CAN NOW DROP OUR ENVELOPES WITH GUN BASH TICKET STUBS AND PAYMENTS IN THIS BOX.

IN 2020, APRIL 1 THROUGH JUNE 30, WE WILL BE ABLE TO DROP OUR RENEWAL FORMS AND PAYMENTS IN THIS SAME BOX.

OF COURSE, MAILING THEM IS STILL AN OPTION.

C.D.S.A. ANNUAL CORN ROAST: SUNDAY, AUGUST 18 / 1PM – 5PM

Join us for the fresh picked corn roast. C.D.S.A. provides entertainment, corn on the cob, ribs, chicken, soda, water, and paper products. We ask that you bring a side dish or dessert to share. The cost is $5 per family. If your grown children and family want to attend, you can pay another $5 per family, to include them.

C.D.S.A. GUN BASH / FUNDRAISER / Saturday, September 21, 2019, 12pm to 6pm (doors open 11am)

The Gun Bash is a live raffle of guns and features a great food buffet, plus snacks, and drinks. Tickets are $30 and are ready for purchase. There are only 1000 tickets sold. Location is Kennedy Twp. Fire Hall. Buffet served from 1pm to 5pm. You may purchase tickets before the membership meetings from 6:30p to 7:30pm on Tues. July 16, August 6 & 20 or at the Corn Roast on Sunday, August 18 from 1pm to 5pm. OR at Island Firearms on Neville Island. FAMILY ARCHERY – TUESDAYS/ INDOOR RANGE / 6PM to 8:30PM

Bring the family for a warm, indoor night of shooting. No range fees for children under 18 years old so this is an inexpensive way for the family to hone their skills and have fun. Information: call JOE at 412-944-4930.

JUNIOR RIFLE (Indoor Range, starting Monday, October 14, 2019)

Junior Rifle practice is held every Monday night starting October 14, 2019 through May 4, 2020, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. This is for children ages 11 – 18 years old. Instruction will be given on gun safety, proper handling of a rifle, and the proper techniques. The club provides the .22 rifles, ammo, and a NRA certified instructor. Cost is $10 fee for a junior membership. Stop down on Monday night to see the program in action and obtain more information. (Check the C.D.S.A. calendar frequently for schedule adjustments)

JUNIOR OLYMPIC ARCHERY DEVELOPMENT (aka “JOAD”) (Indoor Range, starting date to be advised.)

JOAD practices are held Sundays from 3:30pm – 7:30pm on the Indoor Range from October thru April. Children ages 6-20 years are welcome. The only cost is a $10 fee for a junior membership each year. Equipment is available for children wanting to try archery & to confirm interest prior to investing in equipment. We provide USAA Level II Certified coaches. Competitions at other clubs begin in December and run thru April and would require joining USAA Association. ($35) JOAD will host a tournament here at C.D.S.A. in March (dates to be advised). INDOOR RANGE CLOSED STARTING FRIDAY 6pm until SUNDAY at 8PM on tournament weekend. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from all tournaments. HUNTER/TRAPPER SAFETY COURSE – Sunday, October 6, 9am to 4pm / sign up on PA Game Commission site

Go to CDSA web-site. On the EDUCATION tab drop down menu, at top of the Home Page, you will find a link to the PA Game Commission web site to sign up. Also part of the course must be done online.

A MESSAGE from the C.D.S.A. BOARD OF DIRECTORS: If you have any questions or a suggestion, please, come to the Membership Meeting to ask your question, voice your opinion, or offer your suggestion. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month, at 7:30PM. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

2 INDOOR COMBAT PISTOL (Indoor Range)

3 Combat Pistol meets every Wednesday night, year-round, at 6:00 PM. We invite all to come down and practice with your handgun

by participating in a variety of indoor speed shoots. It is fun and great practice if you keep a handgun for protection. Cost is only $2 range fee and $1 for each target that you shoot. All levels of shooters are welcome.

5 THURSDAY NIGHT CDSA BULLSEYE PISTOL TEAM: (Indoor Range)

They meet Thursday nights from late Oct. through the end of April, 6pm to 9pm. It involves bullseye shooting with .22 rifles and center fire pistols. Come see what it is all about or E-mail Neal Hurley at nealhurley@ for more information.

INDOOR NRA AIR PISTOL SILHOUETTE (upstairs Social Hall starting Friday, January 3, 2020).

We meet every Friday night starting the first Friday in January thru the last Friday in March. We shoot from 7:30 pm to 9:30pm, give or take. For information call Terry 412-915-1193.

RANGE SAFETY OFFICER PROGRAM (RSO)

2 The club will be using volunteer Range Safety Officers to monitor the ranges and help novice shooters and new club members learn

3 safe shooting practices and proper range etiquette. The RSOs are fellow Club member volunteers. Please treat them with respect

4 and observe their commands and instructions. They are here to help maintain our Club as a safe and enjoyable place to shoot. If you

are interested in being a volunteer Range Safety Officer, please contact one of the Club officers or attend a meeting.

RANGE CLOSURES: Check the Calendar on the web site and watch for notices posted on the Ranges.

Safety must be your first priority when using the ranges.

Please, keep muzzles pointed in a safe direction at all times.

NEVER TOUCH FIREARMS WHEN

ANYONE IS ON THE RANGE!

Do not put them in a case. Do not adjust the sights. Do not touch them.

Stand back and wait for the range to be declared hot.

When the range is hot, you may handle your firearm.

The C.D.S.A. goal is for all shooters to have a SAFE and positive experience on all ranges.
