smock to keep you covered while you bake. This kitchen staple features backstitched outlines and satin-stitched flowers and leaves, along with a few artful French knots. And the fashionable blanket-stitched band adds even more bold flavor (see diagram on pg. 5).

2. Crochet Day

This scrumptiously stitched apron truly takes the cake. The beautiful embroidery was gorgeous on its own, but every cook deserves a little extra feminine frill. So we added some ready-to-go crochet trim to make this apron a wearable work of art (see diagram on pg. 6).

3. Pins and Needles

Give your pots and pans a fashion-forward place to rest. While this adorable potholder may look complicated, we actually took the keep-it-simple approach. We stem-stitched the colorful rolling pin and satin-stitched the text. Then we quilted it for that distinctly homemade quality (see diagram on pg. 7).

Tip: There are a couple of different ways to transfer designs onto fabric. You can use a light box and trace your pattern directly onto the fabric with a water-soluble pen. Or you can use a transfer pencil, which allows you to trace

your pattern onto tracing paper and iron it onto your fabric.

Needle Me This

This is one book you can judge by its oh-so-cute cover. Embroider your own recipe book design with a spoonful of running stitches, French knots, backstitches and satin stitches. Then wrap it around a journal and secure it with hot glue. A darling button and coordinating elastic cording help keep

those secret family recipes just that (see diagrams on pgs. 7 and 8)! Hobby Lobby Product Inspirations 3

Hanging by aThread

An asking-for-art hallway is perfect for displaying a trio of vintage-style embroidered pieces. We started by transferring a pattern onto a plain pillowcase. Then we satin stitched a fresh-from-the-flower-garden design. Once finished, we added batting and a back and then secured it to a glass-less frame (see diagrams on pgs. 9 -11).

Embroider Her

Turn scrap fabric into an elegant accessory with just a few embroidery basics--satin stitches, rope-like stem stitches and French knots. Then sew on a ?" piece of elastic, and you're ready to show off your stitched-up style (see diagram on pg. 16). 4 Hobby Lobby Product Inspirations
