Additional Comments: Student read many lengthy books included several classics. His favorite book was The Hobbit. He kept notes on each of the chapters and used this information to write a detailed book report. He included pictures of some of the scenes. He used the Book Treks curriculum which included reading comprehension, organizing writing skills and vocabulary skills. The books included information on science and history topics. He worked on additional language art skills in a separate course. He worked on Pre-Algebra skills for math. He did well with the material. For history, he studied the government, early American History, wars, and World Geography. Time lines and other activities were used to cover the material. Some of the topics studied for science were nutrition, the body, animal, and astronomy. He enjoyed many interesting field trips which added to his educational experience. He enjoyed drawing. He drew detailed pictures on the skeletal and respiratory system. He kept physically active. He took swimming lessons. He participated in activities with Scouts. He earned merit badges in several areas included safety and physical education. He took a CPR training class. He enjoyed art and worked with a variety of medium. He participated in a production of Treasure Island.
