It will be kept on file at the Career Center.2Introduction to Student PortfoliosStudent portfolios are not a project, but rather a process of compiling entries that show development of vocational skills. This process starts when you enter the Franklin County Career and Technology Center and ends with your program completion.Franklin County Career and Technology Center students create a portfolio for many reasons, including; providing a measurement of progress and growth, documenting vocational competencies and preserving a list of accomplishments and achievements.Portfolios can be used at open house, parent/teacher conferences, career days, job interviews, cooperative education jobs, post-secondary education application interviews, and to promote Franklin County Career and Technology Center programs.Portfolios must be presented in three-ring binders, typed using Times New Roman font size 12 and must be kept in your vocational shop. They cannot be removed without permission from your pleted entries must be added to the portfolio by the related due date.The student portfolio checklist for each year must be maintained at the front of the three-ring binder. Required components by grade are provided.Rubrics and guides are included in this portfolio handbook and should be used to ensure a high quality portfolio. The student portfolio will be evaluated using the scoring guides and rubrics contained in this handbook. The portfolio will be considered as part of each student’s annual promotion to the next grade, and as a component of his/her program completion status.Vocational reflective entries should reflect the student’s best effort in writing, and must be typed using Times New Roman font size 12. Each reflective entry must contain detailed and specific information about the assignment or project.Instructors are responsible for checking the quality of students’ vocational reflective entries. The Student Portfolio Committee is responsible for checking the quality of all other entries.
