In writing we are continuing to develop realistic fiction stories and learning the stages of the writing process.Students are expected to read for at least 15 minutes each night and complete a weekly reading log which needs to be signed. This is in addition to any other homework that is assigned.The character education word for the month of September is RESPONSIBILITY. Showing responsibility includes being reliable, dependable and accountable for one’s actions. Students will try to display that trait both in and out of school. If a teacher sees your child showing responsibility, he or she may be recognized on the Character Education bulletin board in the first floor hallway.???ScienceThis week we will investigate how mass and volume are measured. Ask your child to share science words with you to help them with new vocabulary. MathematicsWe will take the Acuity A Assessment this week.In class we are working on adding and subtracting whole numbers, including using mental math strategies and estimation to determine whether our sums and differences are reasonable and accurate.You can help your child by practicing basic addition and subtraction facts each night.
