Hope Chapel exists to win the lost, and equip God's people for Works of Service

Matthew 18:11, Ephesians 4:11-13, Acts 2:42, 47

Matthew 18:11 (KJV) For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Ephesians 4:11 (NIV) It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12. to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13. until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Acts 2:42 (NIV) They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

47. Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Hope Chapel’s Vision Statement

1. To grow our congregation to 120 members.

2. To have a Japanese-speaking church service.

3. To assist in leadership development and training of local Pastors and church planting in Okinawa, Japan.

Our Strategy

2. Mini-Church: Is the backbone of Hope Chapel Okinawa a cell-based model utilizing the Leadership of lay

pastors to shepherd their groups of 8-10 people, with a dual purpose of "preparing Christians to become

Effective Witnesses" and serve as a training ground for potential pioneer pastors and other church leaders.

5. To bring every member into active service in ministry at Hope Chapel Okinawa.

For all who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we believe:

1. That everyone is good, competent, and knowledgeable. Romans 15:14

2. That fellowship with other Christians is an ideal way to learn. Ephesians 3:16-19

3. That everyone has something to share. I Corinthians 14:26

4. That everyone has something to do. Ephesians 2:10

5. That we learn by "doing". Romans 1:17

Our commitment to you is that we will value you as a Christian

and provide opportunities for you to grow in these areas.

What We Ask of Our Members

1. That they love Jesus Christ and acknowledge Him as the Lord of their life.

2. Respect the church leaders and the direction they take.

3. Be willing to spend time with the church family.

4. Believe in the church enough to stand with it financially.

5. Be willing to serve God.

…by acknowledging they are placed in leadership by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 8:5)

…by following and supporting them in the ministry of our church (Hebrews 13:17)

3. I am willing to love the people of my church and spend time with them.

…by participating in organized church activities (Hebrews 10:25)

…by placing a high priority on Christian fellowship (1 Peter 1:22)

…by accepting people as they are and trusting in God to cleanse and restore life to them

(Romans 15:7)

4. As a member of this church, I believe in it enough to stand with it financially and support its ministries.

…by living a disciplined and godly life that God can use and bless (Matthew 6:32-33)

…by tithing and giving regularly to invest in the ministries of our church (Malachi 3:10)

…by seeing God as my Provider and investing in His Kingdom (1 Corinthians 16:2)
