JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE::NIGHT THEATRE CLEANERKEY CONTACTS:OPERATING THEATRE, HOUSEKEEPING, MAINTENANCE, RECEPTIONLINE MANAGER: HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBLE TO: : BUSINESS MANAGERACCOUNTABLE TO: : HOSPITAL DIRECTOR HOSPITAL DIRECTORBUSINESS MANAGERHOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISORNIGHT THEATRE CLEANERPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:To assist in the full range of duties required to ensure the overall cleaning of the theatre department. Normal working pattern over a 14 day period will be:Week 1 :Sunday (5 hours), Thursday (5 hours), Friday (5 hours), Saturday, (5 hours) = 20 hoursWeek 2 :Monday (5 hours), Tuesday (5 hours), Wednesday (5 hours) = 15 hours The approximate working hours will be 10pm to 2am/3am, but the start time each day is dependant on the theatre activity finishing time.CLEANING: PRINCIPAL DUTIES:To clean theatre and associated clinical areas during shift, prior to commencement of theatre schedule.To know the correct use and care of cleaning equipment and avoid wastage or misuse of hospital property.To perform heavy duty cleans on kitchen and associated areas during shifts where the theatre has not been used.GENERAL DUTIES:To record in the log book and report to Senior Nurse and night security on duty any suspicious and untoward happenings.To ensure that all keys are handed over to the Receptionist on duty or in his/her absence, to the senior night nurse on duty.Other Duties:To undertake routine maintenance as requested by Hospital Director/Business Manager/Ward Manager/ Theatre Manager.Help to create a good working atmosphere through special emphasis on team spirit and good communication with all work colleagues in other departments.To assist in providing a safe environment for the safety and welfare of patients and staff by being aware of:Health and Safety at Work Act.Fire Prevention and Management (Hospital Requirements)Manual HandlingInfection ControlControl of Substances Hazardous to Health (C.O.S.H.H.)This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties.
