November/December Newsletter 2018 Dear members,September and October have been very busy and we have been lucky to have lovely sunny weather. In September we had an outing on Saturday to Higher Bickington for our Countryside activity day, where we met up with other members from Barnstaple and Taunton. There were exciting activities for everyone, including indoor curling, forest skills, campfire storytelling, willow and felt activities, alpacas, bees, falconry, musical instrument playing and lots more. An excellent lunch was provided by RTT and the day ended with a country music disco – of course! The warm weather enabled us to have BBQ’s right up until the beginning of October and to practise our archery skills outside. The walls and ceiling are covered with some very brightly coloured fish and other sea creatures and we have a very beautifully attired mermaid covering our manikin. One large board is dedicated to the issue of plastics in our oceans and I hope all members remember to recycle all plastic containers. Daryl is updating our website weekly with lots of stories and images of everything we do at the centre and on outings, so please visit our website: .uk - and look under the News and Photos section. We ended October with our scary Halloween party where members were ‘scarily’ dressed and prizes were awarded for party games and dancing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening! The theme for November/ December is :Festive wintry scenes with animals, birds, plants & a few story charactersWe will be using well known Christmas animals, plants and story characters for inspiration to create art and craft objects and as a theme for decorations and card making. It will also inspire the Christmas play and a whole range of activities. We are encouraging members to make small gifts for Christmas and there is the opportunity to make a Christmas wreath this year.
