Airport Ground Transportation Safety, Technology, and Concessions

Airports and the airport ground transportation industry are facing major challenges in safety regulations, dispatch and reservation technologies, parking revenue diversions, and ever-complex concession agreements (or not) at airports. This AGTA meeting will address these topics by bringing all participants up-to-date with experts from the industry, recent surveys conducted by AGTA members and others, and roundtable discussions about what airports and ground transportation operators are doing to meet these challenges. This opening plenary session will highlight the present and future safety regulations for the industry, technologies that are impacting airport ground transportation plans, and whether the current trend in airport ground transportation concessions framework needs rethinking when it comes to ground transportation services.

Ray Mundy, AGTA Executive Director and Director, UM-SL Center for Transportation Studies will present the recently conducted 2012 AGTA Fees & Fares Update Survey of more than 100 North American Airports. Additionally, delegates will have the opportunity to recount the information from this meeting and offer recommendations for session topics for the 2012 Fall Meeting in Las Vegas on October 7 - 10. This meeting will be back-to-back with the Fall AAAE Parking Landside Management Workshop, and delegates from both groups will have the opportunity to register for any or all of the alternate group's sessions.
