MD Anderson in Sugar Land has a team of thoracic experts who provides innovative care for every type and stage of lung cancer, esophageal cancer and other cancers inside the chest. Our patients receive a personalized treatment plan based on advanced diagnostic testing methods, such as molecular profiling to predict clinical responses to therapies before starting any treatment. Our goal is to provide the most appropriate therapeutic option(s) for the patient while considering quality of life factors and avoiding unnecessary procedures.

Do you have patients who currently smoke or smoked in the past?

Lung cancer screening is recommended for individuals 50-80 years old and a current or former smoker who quit in the past year and have a 20 pack-year smoking history.

Current smokers may access our Tobacco Research and Treatment Program for tobacco-cessation services, including in-person behavioral counseling, telephone counseling, web-cam counseling and several tobacco-cessation medication treatments.
