Santa Ana College Holds 91st Annual Commencement

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez will serve as distinguished guest speaker

(Santa Ana, CA) – Santa Ana College (SAC) will hold its 91st commencement exercises on Friday, June 1, 6:30 p.m. at Eddie West Field/Santa Ana Bowl located at the corner of Flower Street and Civic Center Drive in Santa Ana. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez will serve as distinguished guest speaker to deliver an inspirational message to the graduation class of 2007, which boasts over 1,400.

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez represents the 47th Congressional District of California in the House of Representatives, which encompasses the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and some of Fullerton in Orange County. She is currently serving her sixth term and has brought millions of dollars in federal funding back to Orange County for local projects.

This year’s valedictorian is Ryan Iskenderian. He has continuously maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout his studies at SAC and served as president of Psi Beta, a national honor society in psychology. Iskenderian has been recognized by the National Dean’s List for his academics and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Gama Sigma honor societies. He has been accepted to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he will pursue his bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in biological sciences. Iskenderian is a well-rounded individual and has studied classical guitar, piano and the saxophone from the age of five. He has also been recognized in local jazz festivals and was selected for the Southern California All-Star Jazz Band
